About

ABOUT

Born in 1992, Noa is the youngest sibling of the Hoffman family, who are famous for their grand contribution to the Israeli dance world. Her mother, Shuki, is a well-known choreographer who founded, along with Noa's father Shlomi, the famous "Mehola" dance school, one of Israel's best dance schools.

Noa's older brother, Yaniv, is a dancer, choreographer and teacher, who was one of Noa's very first dance teachers, and together they still dance and create till this day. Her sister, Yael, is a dance teacher. Noa's sister-in-law, Dorit, is also a dancer and a highly acclaimed choreographer, who taught Noa as a child, and together they create and direct numerous projects. Noa states that being a part of and working with her family contributed a lot to her dancing career.

Noa started dancing in "Mehola"'s branches in Mevaseret Zion and Jerusalem, and at the age of 10 started training in Jerusalem's Music and Dance Conservatory. Her teacher was Luda Crandel, one of the most famous dance teachers in Israel.

Noa attended the Jerusalem Academy for Music and Dance high school, where she excelled in her dance studies. Among her many teachers were Luda Crandel, Pett Niddleman, Mate Moray, Moran Dekel, Ziva Shohat, Sahar Azimi, Alexander Alexandrov, Evy Lipshitz, Idan Cohen, Rose Castle and more. During that time, Noa was accepted to an exclusive project of "Bat-Sheva" Dance Company, run by Hillel Kogan. Other notable teachers, choreographers, and dance mentors Noa worked with are Ido Tadmor, Talya Paz and Neomi Perlov.

After her graduation, Noa was accepted to the "Outstanding Dancer" program in the I.D.F, allowing her to keep dancing and training while also serving in the Ministry of Defense HQ in Tel-Aviv. In 2011, Noa started working at the Cameri Theatre in Tel-Aviv. During that time she danced in multiple productions such as "Cabaret" (directed by Omri Nitzan, choreographed by Javier De Frutos), "West Side Story" (choreographed by Avihai Haham), "A Funny thing happened on the way to the Forum" (choreographed by Chet Walker), and many more. Noa danced and performed next to Itay Tiran, Mickey Kam, Gadi Yagil, Ola Shore etc.

As a choreographer, Noa created many dance pieces. Her most famous ones, such as "Sky Treasures" (2013), "Elizabeth – life story" (2018), "Days of Repentance" (with Yaniv Hoffman, 2019), "House of Dolls" (2019) and "Seven Sins" (2020) were highly acclaimed by critics and awarded her many prizes in variable dance contests: the Karmiel Dance Festival contest, AshdoDance dance contest, the "I Believe" contest and the "Just Dance" contest.

Other notable work: "Paradox" (2013), "Waiting for Messiah" (2013), "Amygdala" (with Maayan Berger, 2019), "Hineni" (2019) and more.

In addition to being a dancer and a choreographer, Noa is a highly appreciated dance teacher. For the last 13 years she's been teaching in "Mehola" dance school, training hundreds of students. In 2019, she initiated the "professional ensemble" – a group of selected students from "Mehola" with whom she works and creates pieces for dance contests. Other than "Mehola", Noa is invited to teach in many dance departments in high schools, private studios, dance conventions and more.

Noa currently lives in Hod Hasharon with her husband the pianist Yoel Shemesh & their daughter Anna.
